Student exchange experience

This time I would try to write in english. Because what I want to tell you in this post is about my experience with japanese friends. Yap!, for last two weeks, my campus held student exchange between Indonesia student from ITB, UPI and UBL, with japanese student from University of Kitakyushu.

Actually, at first, I'm not too interest with this Bamboo architecture technology, special subject in my campus. But, all of my girl-friends want to join this subject. Then I feel doubt. But when I see some information  about this special subject, there's a student guest from japan. Wow! okay, I will take this subject for this semester. My goal is to have some experience and making friends with japanese. and maybe I can practice my japanese that I learned in highschool 9 years ago.
Well, start from first day, actually this program held in my second campus. But, me and my friends study in first campus in city center. So we should move to second campus, 40min by car, and stay in dorm there.

Our first class start with introducing our own-self in english of course. Then we got our team. Actually it's a little bit awkward when we  try to find our group name. One of my friend said, "how about ninja hatori?". Japanese friend looks confused, don't understand. Then I said, "assasin..". Japanese friend still silent. Then I tried again, "samurai, samurai.." while act like pull a long blade from my back, then "ehmmmm.... kenshin, kenshin". finally, one of japanese friend respond it, "aah... kenshin elhfuaadp" nod her head and speak with her another japanese friend. Okay, then our team name is KENSHIN.

honestly, I don't speak too much with her. because I also a quiet person. and she never ask me something beside the task that teacher give to us. But she's japanese friend that I close to. She's quite patient and diligent doing glued and string, making our model with bamboo stick.

Koshiro. hobby: taking picture

at first he seldom talk with us. he said that his english is not good. but he discus much with shiori. So, shiori be his translator. But then he said, "ok, I will try to speak in english". And I think, He contribute much to give some ideas in our task. He don't like spicy food. When he try 'kuping gajah' chips, he said "I like this. It's sweet. not spicy". Then he plan to buy this as souvenir for his friends.

Ria,

although we are in same campus, but maybe it's my first time seeing her. Her english accent is good. and she also talk much to give her idea. Unfortunately, she's a little bit busy at that time. so she seldom join us.

Husen,

He come late on first day. and he seldom talk and discus. maybe it's because he feel that his english is not too good. But, because Ria is busy, and sometimes I also can't join the class, so I trust him and ask him to be a presenter in presentation day. But then, I see that he become friends with koshiro and another koshiro friends. Maybe it's because he's fan of japanese. He know some of japanese song, anime, manga (his drawing/sketch is really good), and he know japanese language a little bit too.

Ok, we start our first conversation. I said to them, "watashiwa sukoshi nihonggo ga hanasemas". then they surprised. but honestly, I can say that only. haha..

Commitee ask us to prepare some performance for our welcoming party tonight. Well.. lets think about it. I try to remember what I did, what I learned about japanese 9 years ago in highschool. Then, aha~, I tell them, "do you know this song, siawasenarateotatakou~" singing while clapping my hands. Shiori nodding. I tell them that there's Indonesian version too. "How about if we perform it tonight?". And then, we collaboration with Anpanman team, who still confused too about their performance tonight. Ok, I give them Indonesian lyrics that already write in hiragana with my handphone. One of japanese anpanman team, Yuta, shock, why it written in hiragana?. shiori told him that I only know hiragana.

Yuta,

When he first introduce his self in front of class, class start noisy, because he looks like Ringgo, one of Indonesian comedy actor. Later, when we ask, "have you seen or search what is Ringgo looks like?", then he smile while nodding and a little bit shy. He like spicy food like sambal, but then he feel so spicy with that sambal.

Akane,

I can guess that she's still young. She also don't talk much. But sometimes she understand more what we talk about than Yuta. She just seldom talk in english. maybe she's not confidence with her english. But she's so lovely and kawaii. she likes taking selfie with her another japanese friend. She also ask me to take selfie together. ^^v

well, our performance is still awkward. I don't know if  this song is popular in japanese. Japanese friends said that they know this song, but don't remember the lyrics.

there's another team performance too. but still awkward party. lol..

singing First Love by Utada Hikaru, singing we are the champion (I don't know the tittle), and some other songs that I can't remember.

there's also performance from Akiko and Kaori, sing and dance Heavy Rotation by AKB48.

Kaori,

she's beautiful, fun, and friendly. Her english is the best instead another japanese friend. she almost lost his japanese acent when speak in english. maybe that's why she like talk much with us.

Akiko, hobby: Tenis

when she introduce her self for the first time in front of class, Indonesian student agreed that she's the most japanese one. Start from his fashion, the way she talk, her gesture, sooo japanese. She's so friendly, fun, and cute.

Then the biggest performance come from my ITB friend. At first, one of the representation tell us that they will dance the traditional dance from Indonesia. But, oh no, they wrong! they dance Caesar suling sakti..... !@#$%^&*(

the most absurd one is, the leader is a man who have mustache.
