Student Exchange experience

At first I plan to make this story only in 1 post. But, when I write the first one, oh, I think it will be a lot of stories. So, I decided to make the story in several parts.

This part I want to tell you what we did in our first week.

After we split into our group, teacher ask us to make a bamboo model with bamboo stick. The goal of this task is to submit our model to World Bamboo Competition before November 30th.

I won't tell you about the concept of our group model in this post. Because I will only tell you about my experience.

In class, we sit in group. sometimes I feel bored. Then I walk around the class. Seeing another group, and join their conversation. Like 3rd group conversation (I don't know what's the name of this group). There's Tata, Anisa, Yuri, and Ikko. When anisa ask them, did they like korean drama and korean song, they said no. But Ikko said that he know Bigbang. Then I said, "oh... wow, fantastic baby, dance~". he replayed, "yaa.. yaaaa...". "How about the girlband?" ask anisa again. he answered, "Kara... sexy". Then I said, "nicole, sexy dance..". He laugh while said yes. Then he told us that he did part-time job, making ramen. But not in big restaurant. His salary is around 60000 yen a month. But, because he life alone in kitakyushu, he should pay his rent apartment 30000 yen. And he still should spent some more because he have a car."ooh.. rich man.." comment me and anisa. He start his part time job at 6pm-4am. wow! work at night. His school start from 9am until 3am. so he only have 8 hour to rest. we ask, "how about your sleeping time". then he said that he often sleep in class. And the worst thing is he ever had 2 for his exam score because the night before the exam, he had karaoke. God.

Ikko,

at first, he's handsome. Even Ria said that he looks like manga man. But, when I ask his nickname, Yuta said Baka. although he's handsome, but he looks like the attractive, so much active one. not like another japanese friend who stay calm and quiet, Ikko likes walking around the class, join another group conversation. Then later, he's the most can speak bahasa because he learned a lot about Indonesian words and he remember it well. Like, panas bingits, saya lapar, cantik, tolong, etc.

I join Melans' team. Coincidence, who join conversation in this table is all girls. When Akane come join us, she said "girls talk". Actually at first, we (Indonesian girls) don't understand what she said about. With helping from Yuri, finally I can understand what is it about. We told them that girls talk in Bahasa is "rumpi" cyyyiiinnttt... We ask them about Kimono and Yukata. They said that they seldom using Kimono, even some of them don't have one. too expensive. But Yukata is more simple than kimono. Yukatas' belt is thiner than Kimono. Usually, they used Yukata on matsuri/festival, and on New Year. We also ask them about Harajuku style. But, they said that they don't really like Harajuku style. We (Indonesian girls) surprised with their answer. Because we think that Harajuku style is the most popular fashion for japan. They said that harajuku fashion is only for teenager.  Then they said that harajuku style is too much. actually at first, we don't really understand. But then we conclude that Harajuku style in Japan is like Alay in Indonesia. lol..

I don't really close to her. Maybe I never having conversation with her except this girls talk and last talk with her group. But, Tata said that she's very kind person. She like and enthusiastic when stay in Tata house.

When we have our conversation, 1st group who sit beside us, start their noisy. It happen because Muta try to copy Tari piring from youtube. When we tell the girls that there's Indonesian traditional dance, Akiko copy-ing suling sakti caesar dance. Quickly, I said, "noo.. nooooo... that one (caesar suling sakti dance) is not traditional one. That's like Indonesian gangnam style". "haaahhh..." she replayed while nodding. Oh no, that's miscommunication, what Dewi did last night. That's her mistaken, said that Caesar suling sakti is one of traditional dance from Indonesia. So these japanese friends mind think like that.

Muta,

he's the first one who introduce his self in front of the class. When his name called, Japanese friends start noisy. Maybe Muta is like their mascot. Yap, he's so funny. He like talking much too. so friendly. He like surfing. so that's why his skin colour is not too white. When Bart sensei ask us, "did he looks like Indonesian?", we answered, "yes, a little bit". "If he's Indonesian, what city he may come from? Java?". I said, "No. usually Javanese people have big eyes". Then Ria answered, "Sumatra people". He start laugh while announce to his other friends that he's Sumatara people.

We also don't forget to take some group picture in class.

After the class, in dormitory, I try to remember the name of these Japanese friends. argh, It's hard. I ask my dorm-mate, who is who. I also help them, tell them who is japanese friend from my team. But, after I try to remember from the first one to another one, when I back to the first one again, I forget his name. Ok, it's old age impact.

but, few days later, I can remember all of them..

Takuma,
he's calm and quiet. According to my friend, He's not architecture student. But he's majoring in chemistry. Later we know that he join this program because he want to know about slump area in developing country. Unfortunately, we didn't bring them into the slump area, because not all of them want to go to slump area. And we also afraid that they will be sick because it's not hygiene enough for them

Kana,
She also calm and quiet. But she always with Bart sensei. her team sit in front of my ts am. sometimes I see her talk much with Takuma. Then, when Nova ask her something, she tell us a lot.

Takuya,
same as Takuma, Takuya is a silent person. I don't know. I never had conversation with him. But I see that he close enough with Koshiro.

Take,
he's tall. mas dibya said that among the boys,  Take looks really japanese. His hair is curl, I don't know maybe he perm it. but that's cool. and  the unique one is, his bag just like fashion-ista one. haha.. I think maybe there's no man in Indonesia like to bring that kind of bag, except he's fashionista. Although at first I think that he's quiet, later I see that he's also the crazy one. He even flirt with waitress by calling her "mbak cantik". lol.. then he likes saying, "masa siiihhh..."
