Piknik di taman tepi sungai Han

Saat musim semi sudah datang dan suhu mulai menghangat, warga Seoul akan mulai beraktivitas di luar ruangan, salah satunya piknik di taman yang banyak terdapat di tepi sungai Han. Ketika saya ke Seoul bulan Mei tahun lalu, saya menemukan banyaaaakkkk banget warga kota yang sedang menikmati cerahnya hari sambil bercengkrama bersama teman, keluarga, dan kekasihnya. Beberapa tempat favorit yang dijadikan tempat piknik adalah Yeoudio Hangang Park, Banpo Hangang Park, dan Tukseom Hangang Park. Kalo temen-temen sempet mampir ke sini, ga usah takut mati gaya, karena banyak banget aktivitas yang bisa dilakukan di taman-taman tersebut.

When the spring comes after long long winter, Seoulites are getting busy to bounce to here and there to enjoy the sunny breeze and the short period of blooming season. On the weekend of April, Seoul turns from the mega city of sky scrapers to the lively picnic place for every Seoulite; friends, lovers and family. 

As you already know, the most attractive picnic spots of Seoul are the parks alongside Han-river(Hangang). This wide and beautiful waterway divides Seoul into two different area; Gangnam(south of river) and Gangbuk(north of river), and harmonizes between the city and nature. In short, ‘한강공원(Hangang Parks)’ is iconic spring picnic venue in Seoul. 

So, if you visit Korea in April, don’t miss the best season of getting laid on the greenery grass beside the fresh stream (and plus, colorful spring flowers). And also, don’t miss to bring those picnic materials in your bag! You can enjoy the time at Hangang Park like a real local ;)

1. Picnic Mat 

Picnic mat is the most essential stuff for Hangang picnic, but you don’t really have to prepare for it. During the picnic season, especially cherry blossom festival period, there are tens of delivery food vendors walking and handing you fryers around the Hangang parks. And if you order any of them, you can usually get a picnic mat for free with food. However, it’s a picnic and picnic is to have fun time with your friends! Prepare big and cool picnic mat and get relaxed on it.

2. Paper Cup

What do you prefer to drink while lying on a Hangang Park with friends? Chimac(fried chicken and beer) is always the best option for Koreans, but, whatever you like, having fun with a little alcohol and friends will make you feel more chilled. 

Since pitcher drinks and whole foods are not only capable of many people but also cheap, paper cups are needed when you drink or share some snacks at Hangang Park. Moreover, paper cups can be also used as lantern during the night. Turn on the flash light of your smartphone, and put the paper cup upside-down like a lid. You can use different colors of paper cups. It will add more mood for your picnic at night time.

3. Blanket

If you want to stay at Hangang Park for a long time, from day to night, don’t forget to bring a blanket. It’s getting warm in Seoul, but still there is a big jumps of temperature difference between day and night. Especially after sunset, blanket is essential stuff to prevent your body from getting cold. You can buy small blankets at convenient stores near the parks, and can use the blanket as a pillow during the day time by rolling it.

4. Bluetooth Speaker

Who cannot like nice music at the picnic? With other belongings above, Bluetooth speaker will complete your relaxed time at Hangang Park! Of course, you can listen to the music with your built-in smartphone speaker, but only small external speakers can boost your time with your friends. Today’s Bluetooth speakers are compact to carry and sounds better at the same time, and even add more decorations on your gathering.

Saya pernah ke Yeouido Hangang Park di sore hari. Di sini, kita bisa jalan-jalan sambil menikmati indahnya bunga-bunga. Bisa foto-foto kece dengan pemandangan indah. Atau nontonin live music yang seru dari muda-mudi yang sedang perform. Ada juga sepeda yang bisa disewa. Atau mau cruise naik kapal sambil menikmati pemandangan dari sungai Han. Kalo capek, bisa duduk-duduk di kursi di bawah pohon. Kalo laper, ada beberapa tempat untuk jajan dan banyak banget brosur untuk pesan-antar makanan (bisa pesen nih kalo kamu bisa telpon pake bahasa korea!). Yang mau piknik cantik duduk di atas rumput, bisa beli tikar yang banyak dijual. Sambil denger musik dan baca buku. Biar tambah asyik, jangan lupa bawa beberapa permainan yang bisa dimainin seru-seruan bareng partner piknik kita!.

□ Banpo Hangang Park

l Location : 40, Sinbanporo11-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul

l How to go : Get off at Express Bus Terminal Stn. (Line 3,7,9) and come out Exit 8-1. Walk Straight 250m and turn right. Walk straight 600m to Hangang Park.

Saya berkunjung ke Banpo Hangang Park di malam hari supaya bisa menikmati kelap-kelip lampu kota di pinggiran sungai Han. Bahlan bisa juga melihat Namsan Tower yang berada di seberang sungai.! Walaupun sudah malam, banyak muda-mudi yang lagi beraktivitas bersama temannya, seperti nge-dance dan maen skateboard. Tentunya atraksi utama di Banpo adalah air mancur di sisi jembatan yang berwarna-warni layaknya pelangi. Selain itu, terdapat pula pulau buatan dengan bangunan keren yang juga dihiasi kelap-kelip lampu canti. Kalo ke sini saat malam hari, anginnya lumayan kenceng dan dingin. Jadi jangan lupa bawa jaket atau selimut agar badan tetap hangat.
